Change Your Attitude, Change Your Life

So, what kind of attitude do you have?

It may come as a surprise to you, but your attitude is one thing that you have complete control over. It's been said that it's not really what happens to you that's important, but how you respond to what happens to you.

Look at those who are most successful, those you admire. Chances are, all of them had serious adversities to overcome. Quitting would have been very easy.

A friend of mine in Success University made the rank of Counselor, which means he had five active members. In a very short time, all five dropped out. He was devastated.

It would have been very easy for him to quit. In fact, I've had some in my downline give up for that very reason. Not my friend, however. He resolved to hit the business even harder.

As a result, he was promoted to Director status (one above Counselor) in less than two months. Why? Attitude.

If you're waiting for life to satisfy you, you'll be sorely disappointed. If you keep looking for your ship to come in, or to be rescued by a knight in shining armor, all you'll see is your life go by.

So many people I've met, both online and off, tend to believe that the only way to prosperity is through hard work. But that just doesn't hold true, at least from what I've seen.

For instance, I've seen people who work very hard (myself included) who end up with very little to show for it. Others seem to coast to riches and success.

The funny thing about attitudes is that you can always find a way to justify them. If you really believe that to be prosperous you have to work hard, then that's what you'll find to be true.

One attitude that I find a lot is one of blaming. If you blame others you take yourself out of the driver's seat. By taking responsibility you can learn from your mistakes and adjust your game plan accordingly.

The first step to changing your attitude is simply to be aware of it. You can do this by asking yourself some questions:

  • Who is to blame for my current situation?
  • How do I feel about people who have more money than I do?
  • Do I overreact to situations or events?
  • Do I believe that things are going to work out for the best?
  • Do I have what it takes to succeed?
Once you're aware of your attitude, your next step is to get to work changing it. The most effective way to do this is to immerse yourself in personal development. This means books, CD's, DVD's, and even seminars. Some names to look for are Zig Ziglar, Brian Tracy, and Jim Rohn.

Once you delve into personal growth, your attitude and your life will never be quite the same.
